A True Test of Speed
I really like this race because it’s short, sweet, and to the point. Honestly, it’s probably not my best distance because I prefer to race something a little bit longer but I enjoy doing it because it is a true test of speed. Unless you’re just running it for fun, the 2.4 mile distance really isn’t enough time to warm up, relax into a pace, and then pick it up at the end. This distance (for me) is more of a 3…2…1….GO HARD!
So, how have I been training for the Zilker Relays?
Well, I tried running the course the other morning with a friend so I could mentally and physically prepare my body, but it was early and dark and we got lost…so…until I get to run it for real next Friday night I will be envisioning myself trucking up the semi-long hill on Barton Springs Rd.
Other than that, my weekly endurance training consists of:
1 moderate pace- 4-6 mile distance run a week
3 CrossFit workouts
2-3 CrossFit Endurance workouts
