“From the cradle to the cubicle, we devote more time to fixing our shortcomings than to developing our strengths” – Tom Rath
In the next several weeks, I will be making moves to step up my game.  And the best part is that I will not be alone.  As part of the CrossFit Central team, myself and all the other coaches have been arranged on teams to take each other, our lives, leadership, and community to a whole new level.
To kick this off, we received the book Strengths Finder 2.0 and took the test to identify our top 5 greatest strengths.  The whole book is eye opening in making people realize that most of us spend thousands of dollars and countless hours trying to work on our weaknesses or trying to become something we may not be “wired” to become.  Why would we do that? Why would we not trust and use our own talents to excel at the the things we are the strongest?
“You cannot be anything you want to be–but you can be a lot more of who you already are.”

Finding out my strengths is a lot like reading my horoscope, and they all really do pretty much describe me.  I read through the other strengths just to see if all of them could sound like me in one way or another, and they don’t…so I know that the test I took highlighted my true strengths as they are today.  Stay tuned for more updates on how I’ll be using my strengths and the strengths of my CrossFit Central teammates.
